If there is any JCFer there, that can fetch me some sand from that beach, I'd be more than happy to send you some US shit, and money for shipping or something. I've got a Greek friend, and she was telling me about it, and I think it would be cute to send her some.

They call it black sand...but it's gray!

Santorini is pretty spectacular. Nightlife ends at 8 AM. Nothing like walking back to the hotel drunk with the sun shining overhead.

Also, ask for the sand at Perissa Beach, not Kamari Beach. Kamari is also volcanic but it's silver. Perissa is much darker.

These are backpacking kids who are selling books at a coop bookstore by day, doing god knows what by night. The bookstore owners who live in England put them up on Santorini for free in return for minding the store.
