Bill/Horns will be MIA for a bit. His PC took a crap. While deleting some virus stuff that was infesting his PC, it crashed his hard drive it seems and now it just makes a whirring sound and clicks at me.

Maybe I can finally get him to let me build a new one and ditch his PII 333, haha...

More han likely I will have to MacGyver it with paper clips, a hockey ticket stub, and bubble gum.

Wish me luck... Sigh...

I think the hard drive got scrambled. He was doing a virus thing, then a defrag, and it quit booting and hung. Hard Drive was clicking nicely, haha.. I went to install 2k pro and it wouldn't even format, then suddenly it started and formatted. I have it pretty much back up. But, I don't trust the HD at all. Sounds like it will be dead soon after what it was doing.

Trying to talk him into a cheap Sempron 3Gig/Asus setup.

He'll be back soon it look like, at least for a bit, haha..

Tell him to go check out Staples. They sell cheap computers. You can get some rebated down to $300 if you're lucky. Sure, you get what you pay for, but be gentle and they'll work just fine. I've worked with all kinds of cheap department store computers, and if you don't shove three thousand things into it at once they work great, especially for internet.

Whew! I'm relieved it's just the puter! I was expecting he'd crashed his Cobra or something! Of course for Bill this is probably almost as bad as running out of weed!
