Anyone play chello or standing bass. I need help.

I am looking at getting a bass or cello and can't decide on what to get. I have no idea how big a 4/4 cello is and i can't find anywhere thats says the actual dimentions of one. If anyone knows and could help me out that would be great. Also if you know of anywhere I can get one for a good price that would be awesome. I would perfer an upright bass but the only ones i can find are over a grand and I cant afford that. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

i know what a cello is i'm not stupid. I have played but I am more fermiliar with upright bass than cello

sorry i figured you were just being like most people and figuring i was stupid. A lot of people do that I think its the boobs and the being blond. Even though my hair is black now. Hummf. Well anyway. Thanks for helping. I just want to know the damn dimentions on one. There isn't any where local around here that sells them so i can't go just chek one out and I don't want to buy one before i know the actual size.

i am talking about a standing bass or cello which is what he was talking about. I will most proablly stand on mine when I play on stage too. We are starting a tech death/jazz/grind band it will be a very interesting mix. Everyone will be like why the **** is there a girl in that band. Its going to be far from seirous the stage get up anyway. The music will be serous. I mean **** i will be up there in a blood red corset and black leather skirt and my bitch kicker 6 in heals. Jason will be dressed like Jason Voorhies if he not wearing a kilt and if you don't know who jason voorhies is rent a **** horror movie. So yeah it wil be a riot.

I'd check the bay ...you'd probably would get a quick crash course of what is availuable out there, size , price ..etc..

I played one once but really know squat about uprights..

Once I did a hour long bass solo on one ..played it behind my back and played it with my teeth and did that whole Jimmy Page bow thing.....it sure was a big bass.. weighed 450 lbs.. ...but I showed that bastage who's boss..

it fell on top of me a couple times ...but I got right back up..that's when I kicked it.
