  • Computer Wizards help!

Don't know what happened, but i start my computer up, and my monitor has these 1/8" wide lines that run horizantly across the monitor, they seem to be brighter than the actual image, and they distort everything that inside the line to off to the right, but in between the lines it perfectly fine. my video card is a geforce fx 5000.. not sure what happened. check the actuall connection.. and its fine.. ideas? thanks

try another monitor, or try another video card. but it sounds more like a defective monitor/or maybe the cable.

one thing to try... clean the cables, take out the cables and blow on the connecters to try and get rid of any dirt and dust thats built up, then try again

I did computer monitor repair for 3 years, it's your monitor. What you are seeing is the retrace lines. Time for a new monitor or support your local monitor repair facility.
