Re: Favorite Guitar Solos

Every solo posted on here so far is a masterpice in it's own right...

Sails Of Charon / So many lives away / Catch Your train / most everthing by...by Uli Roth is still mind numbing till this day....for me anyways..

I have his Metamorphisis disc on right now..his version of Vivaldi's four seasons....this is untouchable by any other human hands..IMHO

He is the man!

he's kinda weird though..

Ya know, it's weird. Out of all the songs I know, when I think the words "guitar solo" I always think;

Pink Floyd - "The Final Cut"

David Gilmour...hmm...

Comfortably Numb solo by David Gilmour. (Pink Floyd - The Wall, 1979)......btw, that description was for all you young dudes who probably never heard of Dave!
For the more seasoned fans, here's the normal description:
Gilmour, Comfortably Numb.
Yup, I'm feeling OLD tonight!

Anyway......Dave had one of the thickest, cleanest, most emotional blues strat sounds I've ever heard. A lot of their success was owed to Dave IMHO.
As far as metal is concerned, Rhoads and Lynch will always be my favs.
Course, there are a lot of others I like as well!......should I list them all or do we just get to choose a couple????
Oh Fuck, this thread was about favorite solos, not favorite artists........damn I'm going to bed now.....
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

Re: Favorite Guitar Solos

Vito's solo in 'little fighter' is still a favorite of mine.

Some of the solos in Dream theater's first album, and Metrop pt.2 also stand out to me.

For good bluesy/metal solos I've always liked Zaks solo in 'No More Tears'.
