  • Who here is a luthier with the fairest price?

I just got a strat parts guitar that I'm happy with.

I want to repaint the body either white or grey (must be relatively pro paint job). I want the headstock to be matching... I'll provide the logo. Body needs to be filled, sanded and painted. Want a 1 hum pickguard (needs 10 screw layout). Might want to add a Floyd.

You can PM suggestions on who to go to or PM me a rough estimate. Yes, not a lot of info, but I'm just looking for simple honest work...

Off the top of my head, Sully, plon, ulijdavid are people to talk to. I'm sure there are several other awesome builders here as well.

            It's a $400 beater guitar.

              i cam across this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250742004708...84.m1438.l2649
never tried it though so can't speak on the quality but the samples look pretty good. i contacted them a hiwl back and the price includes preparing the body for paint.

I'm gonna try and see if I can rattle can something half decent... after a few tweaks, the guitar is definitely a player.

Understood, but Mike's not as expensive as one may assume, and he's often done headstock matching sales. I'd guess you'd be hard pressed to find anyone to do it under $250. If you're going to rattle can it, Reranch.com is a great place to get stuff from.
