      I ended up using a 9-46 hybrid set on 25.5" scale guitars and a 10-46 on shorter scales.

        Yeah, I definitely smell a pork product of some type.

          same here, in Eb

          although I recently picked up a Fusion with 9s on it and since the strings were brand new, left them on instead of immediately changing them. So this thing is short scale, in Eb, with 9s, and I'm loving it. Might have to lighten up my gauges across the board again.

            Same as a lot here:
            25.5 = 9s
            24.75 = 10s
            25 = 10s
            24.75 archtop = 12s

            When I down tune I usually go up a size as well. I prefer them to feel like they have similar tension no matter the tuning or scale. Tone wise on the electrics I can't tell much difference it's more of a feel thing for me. Except the archtop jazz box, that one really does sound better with heavier strings as do most archtop or nice acoustics I've played.

              10-46 for e standard,
              10-52 for d
              10-56 for 7 stringers in standard b-e tuning.
              All 25.5". 9's sound like rubber bands to me
              I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

                10-46 here. I started out with 9s but they sound thin to me. Also, I fret hard and I found 9s were going out of tune a bit.

                    9-46 hybrids for 25 1/2 standard tuning. 10's for E flat. 10-52 for C# Sabbath / Disturbed tuning
                    I'm not afraid to bleed, but I won't do it for you.

                      9-46 hybrid sets on everything. DR Handmades. Standard, 1/2 down, or whole step down. They last a long time!

                              I'm with you on that, and I like Light Top Heavy Bottom or Hybrid sets too, so my LP has 10-52 and my Strat and Jacksons 9-46.

                              Only exception is my Flying V which I uses 9-46's on, somehow it loses some of its liquid feel with 10's.

                              I use Elixir strings exclusively now, and they both stay bright and are resistant to breaking, so they last a lot longer than regulars, so they actually save me cash!!!

                                9's on all, except my Ibby, which has 10s and is tuned to E flat.

                                if I went lower I would change guages accordingly

                                also I usually use a pick about 2 or 3 mm thick, so it sounds badass lol
