I'd recommend you have a look at the Dunlop Fingerboard care kit

      http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?p...ts/maintenance

I bought some recently, and it did a really good job on my rosewood. I assume it'll work the same on ebony. It comes with a cleaner and prep, which sort of dissolves away any muck that's built up on the fingerboard. You wait for that to evaporate then apply the deep conditioner oil, which I think is a blend of different oils, which conditions the fretboard, then wipe the excess off. It comes with a fret polishing cloth too.
      I like maple fretboards. :P

+1 on the toothbrush for scrubbing. I cleaned the fretboard of my Predator and my toothbrush came away being almost black. I wonder how many years of gunk were in there?

              +2!!

I've been using Dunlop 02 Conditioner for years, but recently ordered Fret Doctor to try it out out of curiosity to see if all the hype about it is true.....and it IS! Fret Doctor is the best stuff out there!

But then no one could boost their post count.

                    Wait a second...
