Quality neck pickups, which ones?

I have a Duncan Hot Rails neck in both middle and neck positions of my SL3 and both are great. What Duncan do you have in your SL1 that sounds so poor? Jazz? I have that in my RR3 and Epi SG neck and don't find it to be "weak arse" at all. Roll the tone back and it's ideal for creamy leads.

it wouldnt be a jazz because thats full size hum, it probalby one of those duncan classic stacks. ( i may be completly wrong)

Don't mean to highjack a thread but....... I have a similar quandry. I have a Jackson Fusion that I put a Duncan Distortion in the bridge and like it a lot. I too need a single bucker for the neck. So does the SD lil59 sound very close to a full sized 59 and does it sound just as good split?

Little 59 is a great full sounding pickup.I put one in my 08 Gibson melody maker and I'm very pleased with it.Nice big fat tone.
