Thanks for all the answers guys! Yes, I thought about that little "bump" too, but I thought it wouldn't be very feelable as it is not feelable at the top of the binding now.

I'll leave it as it is for now. It doesn't bother me THAT much . I'm getting a CS soon with white binding soon .

For me, the very white maple fretboards and bindings look sterile. A maple board and/or bindings with that little bit of yellowing just makes a guitar look cool. For me an '80's Fender maple neck that has aged is just beautiful.
I am a true ass set to this board.

Scraping is the best way to remove the finish on a neck.Leaves it nice and smooth.
        Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Must be quite time consuming though... I would imagine.

Yeah, but if you've got the time and some beer handy it makes it all that easier. Plus, there's not much to do on a tour bus (if you're touring in one) other than sleep, smoke, drink, video games, internet, & tv. Might as well be a little productive between stops.

                That's super-quick, cheap and "non-destructive."

                    Scraping is quicker than sanding.

What about wet sanding the binding? After masking off the neck finish of course. Wouldnt that take off the outer layer of yellowed finish? i've heard that can work.

Or, rubbing compund. Both methods will be messy, though.

Dry sanding with 1200 grit, maybe? Or steel wool?

I must be the only one who doesn't like the yellowing effect. I love the bright white contrast, and I like my guitars to look as pristine as possible. Nicks, scratches and dents bother me, too. I have issues.........

The Stanley Blade is the the best thing to come around since doing it with a Swiss Army knife. If you know how to hold them, they are the best scaping tools even made.

I think that yellowed binding looks as classy as it can get! I would leave it like that.
