i had an appifiany, you have to have tension on the neck i.e. strings. which i never had and the truss rod works like a charm.

Yeah, you'll need strings on it to work.

the reason i never tried it with the strings on is because it is virtually impossible to adjust with them on. Unless you have a 9/32 deep socket with a 3 inch extension with a 3/8 ratchet, which i had on hand.
