Yeah, you will need a Schaller to fit the route. You can find them used on Ebay sometimes. They're usually Charvel or Jackson logoed. You can tell them by the brass fine tuners. The black paint wears, and you can see brass around the edges. The cheap knock-offs have steel fine tuners, and are basically crap.

Oh, you could also fit a Floyd Rose II in that route. It's basically the same as a Schaller, but with hardened steel inserts in the baseplate for the intonation screws.

I'm not too sure about that.
I have a JT-590 (Schaller) and an FR II and the FR II is a tad wider.
It might rub on the sides. Mine did when I swapped trems.
Look for a real Schaller to replace it with.
You can buy new ones from Warmoth and a few other places online.

Mmmm, I wouldn't have thought of that. I'll check when I get home. I have a FRII on my Lado, and a Schaller Floyd sitting on my parts shelf.

            Buy another Schaller

Don't go the ghetto route... so just step away from the tool box.
How do you go about having the Floyd screws shortend?

Rux, just for kicks try this. Try a intonation screw from an OFR( I had some "all parts" replacement screws in my parts box) in the hole that is stripped. My low E on the orange Kelly has a stripped plate.

The OFR screw is slightly longer and caught a couple threads and is holding fine.
I know that ideally you want it to be right, but at least you may be able to play it this way.

Take them to a machine shop and have them remove about 1/8" (measure for exact fit) from the length and then re-tapper and thread the ends so they fit in the string blocks.
