I wouldn't say they are not as good... they are different.
The base plate on the new ones is way better (hardend steel), but it does feel different than the Takeuchi version.

This won't add to the thread at all, but I swear I just read the title as "Bride wont go down" ... time for a divorce!

A trem is good if it works correctly.The JT -6s have all worked perfectly for me. As does the JT -580 and 590.They all work on the same principal some are of cheaper materials thats all.
