    Well, I went with the Mother's Chrome Polish method and the results are astonishing. I will post before and after pictures soon.

          Well, no. I mean, this is the bare-end portion of the wood, where the fretslot is cut, and it isn't a very thick finish at that, so I guess it IS possible.
