Re: adding a kahler trem to a non-kahler guitar

slightly off topic, but why is it that when GMW adds a floyd to those crazy Les Paul mods, they recess the floyd? It would seem like the tilt back on the set neck to accomodate the TOM would require that the floyd be non-recessed. But what the hell do I know?

now back on topic, i think chrisrocks best bet is to just look for a san dimas era soloist that came with a factory installed kahler. when they pop up on ebay, they usually don't go for that much because of the kahler.

I don't know why. I love Kahlers. Miss my 86' models 4 and 6, now.

Yeah, my Kahlers were rock solid. Only problem I ever had, was with my Model 4, in the studio. During a solo recording, I did such a vicious reverse dive, that I damned-near completely took the bend out of the bar! Oops! Bent right back, easily, though, but yikes!

You're too hardcore to be playing with a trem, buddy.

I've been looking for I think would be a 2200 model for a LP copy guitar.

Yeah, but it IS a rather specific crater. I't not like you are just gonna take off the Kahler, and throw on a Floyd, after that pit is dug.

Much like putting a Floyd on a V-trem

And if a Kahler route is a crater, then a Floyd route is a canyon
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

uh-yup. Some call it a pull up, some call it a reverse dive. You say to-MAY-to, I say to-MAH-to.
