Korg CA20 or something in the rehearsal space (the chromatic one, not the one with the "flat" button), MIDI-tone thru Guitar Pro at home, and my bass player's TU2 for live use. Usually my guitars keep tune though.

for "live" use i use a tu-2 for setups and such i use a tu-8.

TU-2. And yes it's great for lowered tunings, your "lowered" D is about as high as I usually go. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Its only shortcoming live-use wise is if you dont know what note all your strings should be.

Depending on the gig, I use either a TU-2, a TU-12, the tuner in my GT-6 or the tuner in my G-Major.

Wow, thanks for all the insights into the various tuners....I will ck them all out. And those of you who brought up the "intonation" question, thank you too ! This was something I had not even thought of.....And it is a serious consideration as well ! Thanks alot everyone !

I use a Korg DTR-1. Has a built-in strobe tuner that works well for intonating. I also have a TU2 on my pedalboard.

For at home when I'm working on the guitar and doing intonation I use a Sabine St-1000 and I've got a cheapy Korg taped to one of my cabs for jamming with the buds. The Korg is cool because I got it for $12 and it's pretty accurate and small. But then I think every piece of guitar gear that is electronic and has a screen should have a tuner in there, like my V-amp 2.

I would love to get a strobe tuner though. Have you guys had any experience with these? http://www.precisionstrobe.com/

I usually just stick with the stock tuners on my guitars.

For realy quick tunings I'll use the Boss TU-12, when more accuracy is needed I'll use the peterson autostrobe 490.

I got a nice Planet Waves tuner for like $25 bucks or something. Really good. It's got an LCD screen so you can really see how close or off you are. I find that a little row of LEDs isn't good enough when fine tuning.

backstage use the korg dt-7 and onstage the pod xtl.

i reccomend a good chromatic tuner like the korg dt-7 or boss tu-12 or tu-2 pedal tuner. but what ever you get, make sure both guitarists us the same brand and model tuner before taking the stage. or else you'll sound like metallica live. - horribly out of tune.
