Re: Dean Markley Blue Steel Strings

I've used them, but didn't like them. Now I use DR Strings on all of my guitars, in varying gauges.

D'Addarios 10-52. Nothing less is acceptable!

I'm a EB man
i use power slinky, skinny top heavy bottom and beefy slinky depending on tuneage

boomers break too often
daddarois are too soft sounding
dean markleys too bright

the EB beefys are just my prefered gauge on C-standard (thats what i have on most of my axes)
i love how they feel, how they sound and how they last

Re: Dean Markley Blue Steel Strings

I also tried Blue Steels a few years back. At first I was digging them, but eventually for some reason threw D'Addarios back on. Then wondered why I switched in the first place! Lately I've been tuning more "normal" to standard ol' drop d or 440. I love 9's personally on my standard tuned axes but too floppy on the drop d. So I got some D'Adarrio EXL125's. Basically 10's for E-A-D, and 9's for G-B-E. It's kinda bummin' me out though, I don't get the same feel with the A and D strings being heavier. I guess I'll just have to buy 9's and buy single 10 gauge E strings to find my perfect drop d feel.
