What kind of Floyd is this?

Which model Floyd is this? The strings run through the back with the ball ends on, Speedloader? Is it a decent trem, or lower in quality than an OFR?

i believe thats a floyd rose II. theres some kramer page with great floyd info on it, ill see if i can find a link.

Not a Floyd II. My Lado has a Floyd II and it is nothing like that. It is actually identical to a Schaller Floyd, and says Floyd Rose II on it.

What you have there is a P.O.S. single locking Floyd of some sort.

It looks an aweful lot like this Floyd II in the pic. Of course, it doesn't say "Floyd Rose II."

It's definitely an original single-locking Floyd Rose II. I've got a black one that came off my old Kramer 600ST from '86 or '87.
The newer Floyd II is the double-locking Schaller. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Aha, so they tried to confuse us by producing 2 different versions with the same name that are basically nothing at all like each other. Well, I guess the baseplate looks the same. Those saddles are extreme crap though. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Basically it is because the original Floyd II (you can see the roman numerals for 2 in the pic) was such a crappy design. When the Schaller version came out, it was so superior, it became the Floyd Rose II.

The Charvel Avenger (and I think the 275 deluxe) came with this type of single locking trem...avoid! Good news is that the post spacing is the same as a normal floyd, so you can substitute in a Schaller/Jackson with the 'short/fat' clamp screws like this one:
