    You also want to line the cavity with shielding. I recommend a paint that you can get at a hardware store but for mine, I've always contact cemented aluminum foil to the back of the cover as well as lined the cavity itself with foil. All the expensive guitars do this or even use metal covers to prevent noise. Mine is dead quiet now that I did this.

      One more thing, if you haven't already, start with a new volume pot because they can tend to get bad without knowing it if you get it too hot with the soldering iron. They can tend to make more noise if something happens like that too.

        redid it all when i got my je-1000 and it sounds pretty sweet now, no cavity shielding used, but no more ground buzz [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
