  • size guitar nut for Original Rhoads/RR1T

    hi...

    anybody knows, what size (thick, length, width, height/tall, E to E) the guitar nuts for Original Rhoads/RR1T ??

    IIRC that depends on what year so I'm not sure.

      I guess when you say original, you mean the first one made for Randy?

        Measure the one on it is what I would do if I was going to replace it.
        If the slots are too deep just fill the slots and re cut, saves having to take the old one off and risk cracking the clear coat.

            I know the height of the nut - it "depends". How high are the frets? Have the frets been worn down? Has it been refretted?

            In general, it's going to take a Gibson style nut, but you will need to customize it for your personal guitar.

            Get some books from Dan Erlewine, he even made a DVD just on making nuts.

            Making a correct nut for a guitar is an art. It isn't about "what were the original factory measurements". It's about fitting the nut for that specific guitar.
