    My Invader is so old it's gotta be from the original batch. I bought it in 1987 or 88. It's currently in my Fusion Special.

    It will thicken up your tone. It really sells the chugging sound when I combine palm-muting and speed picking. It's not as bright in the high-end as my other Duncans, DiMarzios, or EMGs.

      I love the Invader. I record rhythm tracks with a basswood Dinky that has an Invader in the bridge. Playing death metal in standard (E) tuning, I'll take any advantage I can get for getting a thick tone, especially on single-note riffs that need to be able to hang with the bass. I also have ash and alder guitars with Invaders, but basswood gives the most punch without getting muddy.
