I don't think so. IMO the nut really only affects open strings.

The KE3 being a bolt-on will be a little more percussive. Even using the same strings/setup/pickups my bolt-ons always have a certain "snap" to them that the Soloist does not, which is great sometimes and sometimes, not so great.

Now, as far as the acoustically part, that kind of baffles me. My Soloists always sound great acoustically, very loud and resonant. Actually I guess it's all that resonance that makes it sound "smoother" and bassier when it is plugged in.

Some guitars just don't sound good acoustically, and in my experience it has little to do with if they sound good plugged in, it could go either way. I have a nice chambered Mahogany Strat body and it's "dead" acoustically, even though it is chambered. Sounds great plugged in, nice warm growl, but you'd never guess it from playing it acoustically.

So I guess what I'm saying is, as long as it sounds great plugged in, well, plug it in! It is, after all, an electric guitar.
