Yeah, it's not a 15-minute job or anything.

You didn't polish it long enough, or you didn't get the 1500 scratches out. You absolutely will have a factory shine if you do it right.

Don't getta me wrong-o - its shiney - but I'm guessing I didn't get all of the 1500 scratches out. I was going heavy on the 1500 to try and get the regular scratches out when I realized those were down to the primer. I was getting some burn through around the cavity routes - so I stopped with the 1500 and started moving up. I've definately made the finish a lot thinner = TONE!!!

I've still got to hit the back with polish. I only did the front. And I'm thinking of buying a buffing pad for my drill - this hand rubbing is ridiculous. I don't know what I'm going to do about the side - though I left the inside of the horns alone.

Ah, I thought you just had some light pick scratches...

Yeah, hand rubbing 1500 scratches would take a while, and it is tough to get all of the 1500 scratches out especially when you are worried about the finish being very thin.

Careful you don't burn through the finish with the buffer, if you are getting it by hand you will for sure with a buffer.
