    .1's would be incredibly heavy, that's close to a 1/8" (.125).
    Talk about telephone line wires!

(I saw it too, and let it pass).

I'm using 10-46 on my Soloist Pro standard. I like the feel of them, they don't feel too stiff for bending notes and such. I'm also using 10-52 for my KV3 which is tuned to D (I used to use 11-50. I like the 10-52 better.)

The soloist came with 9s on it, but it just felt a little too noodley for me.

I find it odd pretty much every trem guitar out there comes stock with 9's. Almost nobody uses them, at least anyone playing any harder rock or metal. I tried a set and went back to 10's after two days.

I used to have .10 tuned to E standard on all my guitars, but now my main players have .09 tuned to E standard... just got tired of fighting the strings on bends, and vibrato on top of bends. Especially now that I am doing a lot of Marty Friedman - esque Pre-bend --> bend down --> bend up phrasing.

I definitely prefer the sound of .10s... but my callouses can't take the abuse.

Anything down-tuned, I use gauge 11s. The lowest I tune to is C# standard.

Only exception is my YJM strat.... tuned to Eb standard with .08 YJM sig strings.

Slinky Hybrid is all I ever use....10 on the bottom and .52 on top...If it gets too hard to bend then increase your finger strength

I'd suggest if you do decide to go down, that you start out thinner. I saw a movie where where a chick went down for her first time on a thick one and it looked like it really hurt her jaw

I use 11's standard tune and they are starting to feel loose. I should lay off the protein shakes.
