That's the first thing I thought when I read the no made in Germany thing..
PING was authorized to do a FR for Fender.. the only non Schaller "official" Floyd that I can recall.
BTW.. the pink RR w/floyd sounds cool!

          Jackson doesn't use Ping Floyds.
They are either German made " Floyd Rose® Original™ Double Locking 2-Point Tremolo" trems or they are Chinese built " Floyd Rose® FRT-O2000 Double Locking 2-Point Tremolo" trems.

I have not tried or know where to buy the Ping, but I have heard they are very well built. Also, John Suhr is now using the Ping exclusively over the Schaller made Floyd Rose for whatever that is worth.

Anyone know if the Chinese Floyds are also being used by other companies on their imports, i.e. Shecter and LTD?

They've always had maple necks. You mean maple fingerboards now. There's a difference.

I thought he was using Gotoh.

I've heard great things about the Gotoh Floyds.

And I always remembered people talking about Ping hardware as being crap many years ago. Maybe they're better now with the Floyds?

I always thought it was funny how both Ping and Kahler made golf clubs and guitar hardware.
