When was the "switch" from "TOLEX" (G&G '60's - '70's "style") cases to MOLDED??

For the soloist at least it seems to be late 87/early 88, as my local shop had a batch arrived in a mixture of cases, and the guy told me that was the first he'd see of the moulded ones (he thought Jackson were saving money)!
