  • Conformation on the date of my PC1

    Hi there
according to the serial number on my PC1 004691 its a 1987 Koa model is this correct, and as its my first Jackson PC1 it has been set up with 9 to 42 guage strings and they seem a bit too light for me i want to put 10 to 46 on it, any problems with the set up that will cause me stress! cheers great guitar tho!

according to the serial number chart, your PC1 was made in 1998. The PC1 didn't exist back in '87. I think you may have been looking for "4691" in the Jackson Custom Shop Bolt Ons column on the chart instead of "004691" in the Jackson USA Bolt Ons column

PC1s ship with 10s on them; at least they do now. Not sure about when yours was made.

Regardless, yes, you can put 10s on it. You may need to adjust the spring claw for the trem if putting 10s on it drastically changes the angle of the Floyd Rose.
