Brian, I did request thet control configuration, I didn't specify where I wanted the "Made In USA" or "Custom Shop" so Matt must have chosen that. But I think it looks good.

toejam, I was on the fence about getting a sunburst with Poplar, but I think it looks quit nice. If it were a different color the streaks would have really took away from the over all look.
    Cool

What do they call that control configuration now? 2 of the Customs I received, one in 1993 and one in 1994, both had that control config even though I asked for something else. They said it was considered "standard" KV placement back then. Aside from your new KV I haven't seen it used since the Players Choice King V's disappeared.

I told them "Standard KV" layout. So I guess it is still called Standard.

                Beautiful!

                Is that a recessed TOM?

Did you choose poplar because it was the original King V wood, back in the days before there were any KV# or signature variations?
                  Fantastic guitar and congrats.

I like the way that burst looks. It's nice and simple but it definitely catches a person's eye. Congratulations on a sweet guitar!

I just use it for the Duncans

Ken - it is just a standard TOM

TreeFitty - That is exactly why I went with poplar

This is a nice color/hardware combo for sure!
I would have opted for a single humbucker just to show off more of the top and finish.
                                Enjoy!
