  • Newbie waiting on new axe

    Greetings all!
Figured I would register, since I bought an Ontario Strat, and will be digging around here for information and conversation from time to time.
My only other Jackson purchase was a Schon that I bought new in the 1980's, and had to sell in '92 or so to fund the ever increasing number of little people that were invading my house.

    That's right, 5 kids.

So... the Schon had to go to help pay rent. I still have big regrets over that...

Hoping this helps me overcome my grief:

    -Upgraded Schaller JT-590 (replacement for a JT-6)
-Bill Lawrence L500XL humbucker in the bridge
-Bill Lawrence L250B’s in the mid and neck positions
-RS Guitarworks 500K super pot (Volume), RS 500K pot (Tone), RS Guitar Cap .022 capacitor, and 3 on/off switches for the pickups
-Ebony fretboard with MOP dot inlays
    -Work Order 2977 – Serial Number 4736

    So how did I do?
    Any thoughts/opinions/info would be appreciated!
I'm looking forward to hanging out with you cats!

Welcome to the forum! Nice one! Well you are blessed to have 5 children! The guitars can come later, especially as Father's Day presents

I noticed on the back control cavity the incorrect screws were used. You can get the correct ones from our very own Budman at www.fretsonthenet.com, or StewMac.

I had to fix the link. Too many spaces

        Thanks guys!
Will fix the screw situation upon arrival.
I may even have some in my box of goodies.
        If I don't, I'll check out Budman!
        Great to be here

There is a similar axe (just the color - gun metal grey) at my local GC, but it weighs a ton.

Very cool! But is that board really ebony? With the pores I see, it looks like very dark rosewood.

                              Welcome! Nice guitar and pics!

5 children? how are you able to manage to play the guitar? Let alone, do anything else? I have one 14 month old and as we speak, she is not letting me type this post. She's insisting on contributing her thoughts by banging on the keyboard.
