  • New Arrival - Y2KV

Never should have sold my old one. Glad to have one back. These things are tone monsters.

As a Floyd guy, I'm a little late to the string-through party trend. But, tone-wise, I've been digging the mahogany ST layout a lot ever since getting my custom Kelly last year. That guitar is really something special. IMHO, 3-piece mah NTs are especially sweet (tre-cool, check the close-up pic). So, after abandoning ideas for another custom shop order, getting another Y2KV seemed an obvious choice. And I'm digging it muchly.

Congrats, looks awesome! I've been looking for one too for a while now. There's one just like yours on ebay right now. Can't really afford it at the moment though..

Dang that looks killer. Mustaine hit his peak with that design IMHO. ESPees and Deans....not so much. What were the stock pickups in those out of curiosity? Those are so cool, they are roundhorn retro, but at the same time...24 frets! A mega-paradox!

the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Standard "speed neck" profile. Same as on KVs.

Yeah, I made that guy several very reasonable offers.

Duncan JBs in both positions. And agreed about modern specs with roundhorn retro styling - that's why I love it. I'm no Mustaine fan, but he flat-out nailed the specs with this one.

I'm glad I don't have one. If I did have one, I would of course get fired because, instead of being at work, I would be at home playing "Holy Wars" on my Y2KV.
