  • Any info on a SR-2?

I couln't find it in the catalogs but there is a guitar fo sale that I want to bid on and they say it is a SR-2. Looks like a DR-2 to me.
    any input would be appreciated.

IIRC, the DR2 was a USA guitar.
Blank Ebony board with real SD pickups.
The only thing that really sucked about it was the JT-580LP trem.

Have no idea what they go for these days.

That is a DR2 mislabeled as an SR2, USA, ebony board, 580LP trem as mentioned above.

I have one, great guitars but for some reason they don't command much $, so they are the cheapest way to add a USA Jackson to your collection. I got mine for $400 a few years ago (no case), usually they don't go for much more than $500-$550.

missed by $5. I got an offer on my house right before the auction ended so I thought it might be a good idea to hold off if I got out bid.

If you notice the "gravure" description in the finish, that is Jackson's version of photo-flame. Looks cool, but not a veneer or cap. Thankfully, they abandoned that practice quickly.

I have a DR2 with the blue satin finish pictured in the catalog, which is an ash body. Awesome guitar after a bridge pickup swap, as the stock Screamin' Demon just wasn't a good fit.
