  • New parts mutt black Jackson strathead

Here's my latest creation. The neck is the Jackson strathead neck I got off of Paddock here on the JCF classifieds. (Thanks, Alex)

The body is a beat up Charvel Model 2 body I got off of Ebay. Neckplate is a 3D Jackson import plate. Pickup is a Duncan Custom 5 Trembucker. Rear cavity plates are by Budman....but I've left off the trem cavity plate thus far.

This will be a great one to play live....very resonant & its got the right vibe to it.

That big logo sure looks nice on a strat head. I'm thinking of trying to part together something similar... a good sounding easy to play beater while my Avenger is apart to get blood splatters painted all over it.

                  Nope... that's the real deal.
I remember when Paddock put that up for sale.
I so wish I had the cash for it.

Yep. The neck is the real deal. A 1985 according to Paddok.

I'm not sure why the string retainer is positioned at an angle, but that is how it was originally positioned on the neck (no extra holes).

I'm assuming it was done intentionally to give a sharper angle to the lower strings as they pass thru the locknut & under the string retainer...thus more downward pressure without having to torque the string retainer down as much on the lower strings. (That's my guess)
