  • Neck Date Markings?.. the rule or exception???

    Here's a newb type question.

My DK1 has matching neck and pocket dates in pencil.

My friends U.S. Fusion has no date markings, while his other Jackson is an 89 U.S bolt-on that has a neck date but no pocket.

My question is: Did Jackson have a strict policy of dating the necks and pockets of the bolt ons, or were they not always dated?!?

Well, as you see from your examples, there's not any steadfast rule that they would do that.

      Yea, thats what I figured.

I thought perhaps missing or mismatched dates might help to determine if a neck or body has been swapped.

      Thanks

On older (1980's) bolt ons you would usually find a work order number on the neck and body. They should match. I believe they stopped that system in the early 90's when they started bulding the guitars in batches, not on an individual basis.
