how to identify old san dimas body?

hey there brothas,

any way to identify the authenticity of a san dimas bolt on type guitar? the plate's ser # checks out but I'm not sure how to identify it by the body (or neck for that matter).

A SD Body most likely will have the small triangular electronics cavity... though some Ontario bodies do as well.

Best way is to see the date in the neck pocket.

if the date is mid-86 or earlier, then it's SD for sure.

Some fenders have a similar control cavity, even some early bolt on Japans do (I think, I don't have one)
