Re: Jackson Dinky "Dragon"

The graphic is dated on the Dragon's neck, on one of its scales, right at the bottom of the lower horn near the edge of the body.
It says Burgan '94 or Burgian '94 (can't tell if that's an I or just the way he makes his G).

Interesting. I wonder if mine was the first, and the others were done by other artists?
That "Deco Dream" graphic on Ebay a while back was noticeable different from all the others I had seen - more shading and such, and I wonder if Jackson would have someone come in and paint a graphic, but use other artists (in-house and out-house) to do copies when needed?
But then, yours has more colors than mine around the mane and more detail in the clouds, so theoretically yours would be the first or original graphic since it's more detailed.

Out of curiosity, what's the serial number on your plate? Mine's 001797 - it shows on the serial number chart as a '93 (IIRC).

002064...i remember sandy telling me about the usa series a little bit...from what i can remember they were all a little different, little details here and there...ex. some bikini beaches had dolphins on them, most didn't, all had different cloud formations...wish i could remember more...i would venture a guess that depending on the day it was finished was the quality of the graphic...you know, how fiesty the artist was feeling ex. monday with a hangover would be drastically different form say a wed. one...lol...i do believe each pattern was done by the same artist but different patterns by different artists...ie. bikini = diff. artist than dragons...also jackson was not above farming some of their finish work out to other artists...my blue marble charvel was done by an artists outside the company, which is why you'll probably never see another one...only 2 guitars were finished that way, my charvel and a jackson kelly...d.m.

I don't know if it matters, but I bought that Dragon (Fusion?) that was listed here a few weeks back that had the Ibanez lefty tremolo and 3/4 missing graphic with maple fretboard. I am supposed to go pick it up sometime in the next week. I have to decide what I am going to do with it (restoration wise).

I saw this one about a week ago before they posted it on their web-site.
If it had a maple board, I'd be proud owner.

Odd thing is, I tried it three times and then finally went to MGR.com and searched for Jackson, and when that link came around it was marked as if I had already been to it, and I hadn't!
Ah well, maybe it's me

I used to own the one with the good body that had the rough neck and thus have been a silent party to events that have caused a lot of hullabaloo around here lately I've got stories to tell on that one too but hold my tongue

All that's really rough about it is the clearcoat on the head - not like the frets are dogged or the wood's split - as long as it's playable, I'm camping happily

Thanks for clearing that uo Newc. That was also my description of the shape of the neck even though it was described back to me quite differantly as some kind of bargaining tool post sale
