not even close. us fenders in 1988 listed from $650 for the "american standard" to $1k for "us vintage"
jackson strats in 1987 started at $1340 for single humbucker or $1440 for two pickups. and of course special finishes or graphics increased on top of that.

Holy Moly !!!!!....That translates to $4000 in 2023 dollars ....As a kid in 1987 i was making $3,35 an hour , that would have been a long long time saving up.Comment
