  • Jackson USA ’94 JJ Custom

Hi! I just got this amazing JJ Custom ’94
Does anyone know what was the original case it had?
it is a super light weight guitar with a amazing flame top. I read from somewhere only 113 were made - some of them black.
Are the black ones without the maple cap?

In the 1995 price list the case is listed as JCC922 USA. Unfortunately on the used market no one ever uses model numbers to identify what case they have. Regarding the wood they list the quilt top option separately and the ‘94 price list confirms that only the quilt has the maple top. I cannot verify any number limits. (Got the source? I’m curious.)

Thanks Mechayoshi! I read the quantity info from Reverb: https://reverb.com/item/1000517-usa-...ns-red-99-rare
Source for that data is interesting though. Would be nice to know.
I try to score that case. It is a nice guitar i have to say.

Is that one yours? It IS beautiful then.

People say things about quantities all the time though, so I'll try to look into that more. Regarding that case, there is also a JCC922 without the USA addition. Not sure what the difference is, but a few more Jacksons/Charvels used that case. The SC1, also the LS-1, and ATX Charvels used it so technically it should be more common. Also later the JJ1 will use the exact JCC922 USA case, so it might come up more if you save certain search terms. Oh well, best of wishes for your search.

states the amount of JJ Customs. 1994 only 91 and 1995 13.

Cleaned it today (fretboard, fret polish, new strings, setup and intonation). It is a red rocker - not like Sammy Hagar though. Very light and powerful. Resonates like crazy. Next thing is to buy a proper hardcase for it. Will try to get it fit into a Les Paul case as its measurements seem to be small enough.
