    Hey
    which jackson would you prefer

    1.San Dimas RR 1985 STD
    rosewood white/black pinstriping
    or
    2.Ontario custom RR 1988
    lava crackle ebony

  • #2
I'd prefer the '88 for the shark fins, binding and ebony.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Yeah, I'd go for the 88 too
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I'll be different and say the 85, but only because I don't like crackle finishes. I do prefer the ebony and sharkies though. The build quality will be pretty much the same between the two, so it really comes down to which one looks cooler to you.

Which bridges? Because if the ‘88 has a JT6, then I’d definitely go with the ‘85 no matter which bridge it has.

The Ontario Custom for sure! What's the deal with the San Dimas guitars? Are they supposed to be the best? Currently overpriced on the market because now they're "Vintage"?
