  • NUGD: JAckson Star 1997

I found this one from Germany in August. It was a fixer upper but I was able to get it back to reasonably good condition. I believe that this is Namm 1998 guitar. I wish that I could find orginal painted humbucker for it.

Is that Mike Learn’s work? Maybe he can put one together for you.

    Sweet axe.

1997 is too early for Mike Learn paint job. When did Mike start doing paint on Jacksons? No signature on the guitar.

Beautiful guitar. Is the 'SA' in the USA logo missing?
          96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Yes SA is missing. When I got the guitar it had lifting clear coat problems with chunks of it broken off too. I did what I could with CA glue.

Holy shit, the Giger Star is awesome! I remember that one, catalog guitar, and it was always my favorite Star ever.

Cool star! Any chance that is a Dan Lawrence graphic? Do you see any initials and date hidden in the graphic. He tends to bury them in the details either on the front or on the back near the control panel.

It could be Dan Lawrence Graphic. No signature anywhere on the guitar. I checked it thoroughly when I took it apart for repairs. No markings in the neck pocket either. They must have been "very hurry for NAMM" at Jackson.

There are two of these around. Mine has painted pickup ring. You can see it in the photo from Namm 1998.
