  • What's the first year for the 24 fret Jackson DK1?

As the title suggests. I am wondering when Jackson made the dk1 available with 24 frets?
I am pretty sure it was during the Ontario, Ca days, or am I way off? I ask because it is the
only guitar I want to own before I croak. Thanks. Pics would be cool if you have them.

Dinky, prior to being called DK1, was 24 frets in the 80's.
But once they started calling them DK1, it was 22 frets. Then it seems to disappear from the catalogs until the Fender years.

Yep, 2002 is when the 24-fret DK1 came about.

The two on the left are 24 fret Dinky's from Ontario, but the one on the right is a Fusion.

What about 1996-1998? Do they not produced in those years?

            '96-'98 were 22 fret DK1's.
            96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

True. Custom Shop models don't follow the rules.

I've checked twice that my USA Dinky 95' has 24 frets, but it is not from Custom Shop .. Of course if PCS is not the same as Custom Shop series

PCS were limited edition USA production models. "Custom shop" means a true one-off custom order.

So, 24 frets necks can be used for USA Dinky '90-'99 production years in case of PCS or Custom Shop series

Aside from PCS or CS, there were 24 fret production model Dinkys from 1990 to 1996, but they weren't called DK1's.

'DK1' first appeared in the 1996 catalogue. Before '96 the 24 fret production Dinkys were called a Dinky Custom.
