  • 1991 Coral Sea, Bolt-on model

Trying to help a guy identify the model but I can't find a '91 production model with this control layout. He 'thinks' its 25.5 not 24.75 scale but the pics don't make it clear to me. I can only offer theories and guesses. Any help is welcomed. http://s966.photobucket.com/user/kar...182ae.jpg.html

It's just a 91 dinky 25.5" scale, here is one I used to own.

A Fusion would have a Volume, small toggle for the JE1500, and a tone.

That's not Coral Sea, it's Tie Dye. IIRC, if the serial number is below 1500 it's a Fusion, regardless of the control layout.

The guitar in the original post is a Coral Sea finish with serial# 001167 (1991). Are all Fusion models 24.75? If so, I'll just have the owner measure the scale to confirm either Dinky or Fusion.

Oh yeah, didn't notice that jacksonaxes said that was one he used to own :P I was thinking he linked the pic you linked to.

Quite some years ago I had a few Fusions with relatively early serials, and then ran across a Dinky that was only a few numbers above those. Charvel750 and I compared notes and found that Fusions became Dinkys about the range of #001500. I think the Dinky I had was #001505 and one of the Fusions either of us had was #0014xx. Been a few years but I think that was how it went.

Strange coincidence... I know I'm reviving a dead thread but I just found serial# 001168 (1991) for sale near me. 001168 appears to be Eerie Dess but the lighting is horrid in the pics so I'm not sure. Its a USA though. What is the ballpark for a fair condition 1991 Fusion? Does the 24.75" neck sound/play much different that the 25.5" on the dinky?
