  • Master list of CS workers

With my unending curiosity about my 1989 Custom Vintage, I've been trying to understand all the markings in the neck pockets. So, I thought it would be useful to compile a list of all the workers initials (or names, if available) that show up, along with what work they did. Any additions, corrections or information would be great. I mostly have older (i.e. late 80s, I think) names, but a couple from recent work. Here's what I have so far:

    RA
    MB (everything)
    (P/L)B (assembly)
Harvey Beck (neck dress, final inspection)
    JC
    Valerie Cline (wiring)
    MD
    OD (oil & decal?)
    Ron Dementia
    Mike Eldred
    JF
    Keith Frazier
    KG (final inspection)
    VRG (R crossed out)
    Mark Gellert (assembly, setup)
    Hermila Gutierrez (wiring, assembly)
JH (neck dress, assembly, wiring, 2013)
    Willy Houston (setup)
    MJ/MS?
RK (assembly, wiring, setup, final inspection, 2013)
    NL
    IM (assembly/wiring)
    Roger Maakestad (neck dress)
    SM (final inspection)
    Steve Olson (setup)
    Tony Petrilla (neck dress)
    FR (floyd rose?)
    MR (neck dress)
    Bob Smith
    SS (setup)
    EV
    Scott Zimmerman (mill/paint)
    J?
    W?
    TK
    DR
    H?

I have two 2012 USA Select KV2's and the assembly, wiring and set up were all done by "SS" on both of them who I've been told is Steve Stern. The neck dress was done by "JH" on both and I have no idea who that is. Maybe they only let certain builders do the left handed models but both of my hang tags are identical. The only difference is the work order numbers on them. One is three numbers higher than the other. I am guessing this is because I bought both of them from the same dealer who specializes in left handed guitars and the two I got were from the same run. The the final inspection date is only 2 days apart on both of them and done by "JW" or "JD" on both models. These guys really know how to scribble they should have went to Med. School. One was inspected June 27th 2012 and the other was inspected June 29th 2012.

This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

"TK" is Todd Krause from what I've been told I could be wrong.
