  • Will refinishing a USA Fusion lower value?

I have a 90 USA Fusion with a what I believe is the Warbird graphic. Will it lower the value if i refinish it to a solid color. Is there that much collector value to begin with? Love the guitar just prefer solid colors or maybe even a burst.

Yes if the graphic is original.
The grain of the wood may not be nice enough to do a burst to be honest it may have a veneer top as well.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

To some people, all original is more important.
In some areas, non original means its most likely an amateur hack job.

Then of course, its a question of whether its one of a million or one in a million.
No one cares about some run of the mill import that is the same as every single other import that came off the factory line.

      And a bigger question is
      value vs price
      they aren't the same thing.
Did you buy it to sell it or to play it. You're a player, your value is going to be had by playing it. Paint it if you want. You have a guitar. You paid for a guitar. You didn't pay for resale value.

To be honest I don't plan on selling it.I would just hate to find out that I ruined something rare or collectable.

It's 90s Jackson Guitar - it's not rare or collectible. If you're using Jackson guitars as investment pieces, you're doing it wrong

Make it the way you want or else sell it and buy the one you want.

A Google image search - Jackson fusion warbird - will show you how rare it is.
              Naked woman. Military green.
              It was on many models.

Ignore words like - rare - in sales posts.

Again didn't buy it as a investment. Wasn't told it was rare or valuable. Just wanted to make sure before I repainted it.

                        Oh dear, that is rare.
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

+1 It will ruin the value. NOBODY pays more for a guitar that's been refinished over a guitar with the original finish unless they're very uneducated. I wouldn't refinish it.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.
