I would go with the black one. If it's a local one, I bet you can probably give $1000 cash and he'll take it. After taxes and shipping, your probably looking at around $1700 for the blue one.

I ended up getting the black w/EMGs, it was close 30 mins away. It has a few minor wear issues, but nothing serious that it affects playability. I can't believe the improved quality over my MIJ Dk2 and how much better this Real German Floyd Rose is. I don't know if I can go back to imports, what I have done... haha

FYI, I have U22864 in my log of USA serial numbers. It was for sale on Ebay in March 2012 and the seller listed it as metallic black. I have the work order # and the production date (5/17/10) in my log for this one so I would have gotten that info from the hang tag posted in the Ebay auction. From you pictures, you can't tell if it is solid black or metallic black. Definitely confirm this with the seller. And I usally make notes about the condition and different pickups in my log. I didn't mark anything different about this soloist so most likely in good condition and it had Seymour Duncans in it. So those EMGs have been recently installed. I didn't track whether or not this black soloist actually sold on Ebay last year. The only other comment I had from the Ebay auction was that the seller stated he bought it from Musicians Friend. You may want to ask the current owner where he got it from to see if he's the original owner or if he got it from Ebay last March.

Oh that number if from the original pic I got, I read it wrong. Once i got the guitar the actual number is #22564.

Are you sure the second is an SL2? Stock EMGs would have to make it a DK1 but from that one picture I can't tell if it's a bolt on or not. That would explain the missing serial too... because it's on the back!

It looks like an SL2H to me... check how close the volume knob is to the bridge. Someone just swapped out the Duncans for EMGs. If it were a DK1, the knob location is further away.

It used to be 15% (8% GST 5% PST) but then it was harmonized to 13% (HST) ... I'm in Toronto, ON. Where do you propose I move to? hahaha

Yes, I will be able to inspect the black one, the blue is in French Territory (Montreal, QC) ... so it will be shipped to me, and no return option (But blue...argh...)

Hey, I live in Windsor! I was wondering where else had 13% sales tax.
My friend in Windsor sold an SL1 in trans something for only $1200, try and look around a little more and maybe you'll find something interesting.

Also, if you end up buying a guitar from the States get it shipped to My Detroit Address. I did that when I bought my RG7620, and it saved me around $100. I guess depending on the mileage of your car if you'd save the same amount

Definitely an SL2H (Bought the black one) ... He said he bought it from StevesMusic in Montreal, and it came that way with EMGs, maybe its had a previous owner before that. Who knows. Some pics before I did a thorough cleaning.
