  • 80's soloist question

Looks like it may fall under the "soloist custom" label, but I'm not sure. I just found this locally, I called the seller but no answer. It looks to be neck thru from the last picture, would you all agree? Ferrari red color? He says it's had little use so hopefully where it looks beat up is just the flash.

Anyway, any info would be appreciated, as with any questions I should ask when I get a call back.

Pretty safe to say it's neck thru. I can't give you much info, but it looks like it has gold flakes or something in the finish. Also it has the smaller Jackson logo, which I believe speaks to it's age, but I'm not sure. I'd probably ask him what the serial number is.

Yeah, looks like a late 80's (large pickup cover) red-sparkle Soloist custom. Great price... Mind you, I thought that bridge wasn't used until the early 90's, but whatever, it's 20+ years old and looks to be in good shape.

You can see red paint on the back of the headstock in one of the pics, so unless something really weird is going on, it is neckthrough.

plus you'd see the neck join here if it was a bolt-on:

Rare is not the same as valuable

              Its now mine. D

I'll have pics in the next couple days when my new camera shows up. It's a 1989. Is there any way to find the work order on it?

              Thanks for the help

Seems to be a high serial number for a guitar made in the 80s??

Yeah. I emailed Jackson trying to get more info on it, we'll see if they're helpful or not...
