  • Anyone have a Sharkfin Repaired?

A few years back I snagged a used Jackson and didn't notice the 5th fret inlay had a crack in it. Anybody have a cracked inlay? What did it run you to fix?

I'd get new inlays, I wouldn't try fixing it myself.

Get some thin super glue and put a drop under the inlay and clamp gently with wax paper over the inlay. Let sit for a bit.

Super easy to fix. If it's just got a crack in it, wick some CA in there, hit it with accelerator to cure it right away, then scrape it flush with a fresh razor blade.

If it's not firmly in place, glue it back as mentioned above ^^. The inlays are cut in sets, and you'll probably have trouble finding a matching piece of MOP to put in there. So, if you wanted to go that route you'd probably need to replace all of them, and it would be costly...
