Jammed with it today and the lack of fretboard inlays didn't hinder me in the least. This guitar is freaking awesome! The sustainer rules!

I know they don't have inlays but don't they have the side dots at least on the neck to help navigate around the frets?

They do. However, I can tell you I thought thats all I needed and tried to play mine live at one of our gigs. On a dark stage with flashing lights I had a hard time knowing where I was on that maple fretboard. As a result I don't play my PC1 live but do enjoy it at home. Others can play just fine on a fretboard without inlays, I can't.
