  • Trans Gretsch Orange Flame Top RR1

I just picked this RR1 off of Minneapolis craigslist for $650 w/ Case - It was a bit of a gamble as the only pictures I saw were sent to me via MMS with what appeared to be a 90's era Camera-phone. I'm really happy that I took the chance though as she turned out to be a looker. I had to give her a full setup and probably need a fret dress some point soon.

The Ownership documentation lists this as a RR1-GO (I'm guessing for Gretsch Orange). I haven't seen many guitars in this color though. Even googling RR1-GO didn't yield any relevant results. From the serial number, I know that she's post-2001.

I've named her Majuro, the capital of Marshall Islands.

nice score bro. I had a similar experience too. I snagged a 2001 King V off the local CL for $600 with case. It's off getting the frets dressed now

sometimes you just gotta take a chance and roll the dice!

Looks badass. Be thankful they didn't put a Bigsby on it.

That color really looks badass. I'm not a big RR style fan, even though I dig V's.That one is a winner in my book. Way cool.

Thanks for all the feedback! I didn't realize a Rhoads neck was thicker than the standard Jackson speed profile. I had played a Rhoads many years ago and remembered that I loved it. I've been using a Soloist for the last 12 years and now moving to the Rhoads, it feels a lot different. Definitely no bad, but there was an adjustment period. I'm guessing I'll be in the market for a KV2 soon enough! That market looks to be a lot tighter than the one for Rhoads though ...
