Semi hollow Custom Shop Jackson

Anyone had any experience with the custom shop making semi hollow body guitars? I would like to get a Phil Collen original model as a semi hollow. I know they did Surfcasters but I am looking for something alittle more classy. I was also trying to find out if anyone had any construction designs that might work best aka ES-335 with spruce sandwiching maple.

Well, the Jazz'R was great, just needed a better neck profile than hard V. Maybe a 1 5/8" nut width as well.
It was maple top and back with spruce sides.

Then there's the Dominion, which is supposedly hollow on both sides of the neckthrough tenon.


And the Surfcaster was plenty classy. Maybe not pimped-out with figured maple and flashing lights, but certainly not as ugly as the OPCA.

They also had the old Charvette semi-hollow Tele thingy that is a real sleeper-of-a-keeper.

I'm sure they could do it right.

The Jazz'R and the rest of the SweeTone series were available with two different neck profiles to choose from.

Interesting. SO they did a sort-of Semi-Custom on these where you ordered it with either profile and it was the same cost, but still USA Select pricing?

Yep. The catalog even gives the specs of the two different profiles. One profile is the same as the Morton.
