  • work order numbers on early Jacksons

    Hi guys,

I can see these handwritings in the spring cavity of a soloist: at first the color, then the abbreviated info on the knobs/switch config, and a 4 digit number, which I guess is the work order number. But this number starts with a 0, so I don't know if this is really a work order number (in the log, these numbers are from 2000 upwards). Unfortunately, this soloist doesn't have a s/n, so I don't really know what to think of it.
I hope you can help me out.

Not even a serial stamped into the fretboard? Pix might help.

Well, Ontario wouldn't exactly be "early" there, stray

I would say that that is the work order number. Here's what the cavity in my Soloist looks like. There should be a serial number stamped into the the end of the fretboard.

Hey there, thanks for the replies. No serial stamped in the fretboard, that's the problem here. The control cavity looks like SD.
Interesting enough, there is also a work order nr in Sharkfin's pic that is below 2000 - and what does the 6 with the circle mean?

...though the decal has the circled R and not the TM on it (which would point to Ontario I guess)

It means I'm cool Who knows? Although I have a question now, are the work orders sequential? Is this the 1108th guitar Jackson made?
